The expansion of hemp and cannabis legalization has led to new breakthroughs in research previously unthought of. This includes finding new cannabinoids and increasing our understanding of the ones we already know exist. For example, Tetrahydrocannabutol, or THCB for short, is one of the newest cannabinoids discovered to belong to the THC family.

According to research published in the Journal of Natural Products, THCB binds to the CB1 and CB2 receptors. This line of research, coupled with existing knowledge of other THC cannabinoids has led scientists to believe THCB has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. However, these findings were declared preliminary, with the need for more in-depth research encouraged.

So just how strong is THCB compared to its sister THC cannabinoids? An article from High Times suggests that THCB is 30x stronger than Delta 9 THC. However, due to the lack of clinical research and the newness of this cannabinoid, it is hard to gauge its strength.

It is important to remember that cannabinoid products impact individuals differently. It is encouraged to start with a smaller serving size and adjust when trying a new product. Those with pre-existing conditions or on prescription medication should consult with their physician before trying cannabinoid products, such as THCB.

The world of cannabinoid research is constantly evolving. THCB may be one of the newer cannabinoids uncovered, but there is surely more to come. With time and patience, we will uncover what all this amazing little plant has to offer.
