I love trying new products, especially gummies. So when Star Hill Hemp reached out to see if I wanted to try their Kamikzi gummies, I was excited to say yes. As it turns out, excited hit the nail on the head.
When I got my package from Star Hill Hemp, it arrived in outwardly discrete packaging. Unless you were expecting the package, you would have never known what was inside. However, the inside of the packaging was a delightful surprise.
Star Hill Hemp's logo was stamped on the inside lid, while the gummies and a tin that contained a contact card rested in a bed of brightly colored crinkle paper. It was a simple, but fun packaging that made me feel like I was opening a birthday present.
Cannabinoid Analysis
A Certificate of Analysis is a great way to help distinguish a quality product from a fraudulent or subpar one. The COA provided by Star Hill Hemp gave an in-depth look at their Kamikazi gummies.
One of the first things I check is to make sure that the cannabinoids advertised on the packaging are present. According to the Kamikazi COA, these gummies contain CBD, Delta 8 THC, Delta 10 THC, and HHC, with the total cannabinoid potency ranging just a hair over 25mg. Next, I look to make sure all heavy metals, pesticides, and microbial tests have passed. Finally, I double-check the test for residual solvents. If all of those categories check out, then I know I have a good product to try.
The Taste Test
When I opened the container, the scent of sweet dragonfruit was the first thing I noticed. Personally, I love flavors like this. Since this was my first time trying this particular product, I opted to start with half a gummy to see how it impacted me.
The first thing I noticed when consuming the Kamakazi gummies was the initial sweetness followed by a flavor that reminded me of fresh grapefruit. While unexpected, it was not unpleasant. It almost reminded me of a certain candy that starts off sour, but then is sweet at the end.
The Experience - Round 1
As mentioned above, I began with half a gummy (roughly 14.5mg) to begin with. Since I have a lower tolerance threshold, my starter serving size tends to be around 10-15mg for most cannabinoid products.
I took the gummy later in the evening after winding down for the night. The gummy took roughly 20 minutes for me to begin feeling the effects. The body high I experienced allowed me to unwind and relax while watching TV. Since it was later in the evening, the body high continued when I turned in for the night.
It is rare for me to sleep through the night without waking up at least once. However, I slept soundly and woke up feeling well-rested.
The Experience - Round 2
Since half a gummy worked well for me, I used that as my serving size the next evening. Given the fact that I had slept well the night before, I repeated the process from the first round. Much like the night before, I experienced a body high after about 20-30 minutes. Having had a long day, I decided to turn in for the night a bit earlier than normal.
This time, I woke up out of a dead sleep worried I had slept through my alarm. Thankfully, it was early enough my alarm had not gone off yet. But despite the slight panic that comes with the worry of sleeping through an alarm, I was still well-rested.
Additional Notes
This was a wonderful product and I would highly recommend it to anyone who has a higher threshold tolerance. The flavors were bold and the packaging even had a QR code that would direct shoppers to the product COA.
If there were one area I would love to see Star Hill Hemp expand on it would be adding additional potency options. The Kamikazi gummies are tasty and effective, and I would personally love to see them come in a 10mg or 15mg serving size in the future.
