There is something refreshing about the scent of a freshly peeled orange. As I opened my Citrus 1000mg Full Spectrum CBD oil for the first time, I couldn't help but think C4 Healthlabs nailed the scent perfectly. Accompanying the CBD oil was a set of detailed instructions, outlining suggested the suggested dosage and how to properly ingest the product. While a full dropper (1mL) used one to two times a day was the standard dosage, C4 Healthlabs recommended starting with a .5mL (half-full dropper) dosage and adjusting as needed. Since this was my first time trying this specific CBD product, I opted to start with the recommended .5mL dosage.
Cannabinoid Analysis
C4 Healthlabs has made verifying their products easy by supplying up to date COAs alongside their products. The COA for their Citrus 1000mg Full Spectrum CBD oil was updated mid-January 2021, showing the various cannabinoids present, including CBC and CBG. It is also worth noting C4 Labs also provides a full list of ingredients, allergen warnings, and storage instructions for each product on their website.
The Taste Test
I ingested the CBD oil as suggested in the directions. I measured out the dosage using the marked dropper, then applied the tincture directly under my tongue. I counted to sixty before swallowing, noting the subtle notes of coconut and citrus. I also noted that the tincture did not carry an oily aftertaste that some products have.
The Experience - Day 1
I took my first dosage (.5mL) at about 9:30 AM and sat down at my computer to work. The CBD oil took about ten minutes to begin to take effect. I experienced a feeling of deep relaxation, perfect for a rainy day inside with a book or an extended meditation session.
The Experience - Day 2
This time I took my .5mL dosage before bed around 10:00 PM. After destroying my natural sleep schedule as a teenager, I now tend to be a light sleeper and have trouble remaining asleep through the night. Some nights, it can take hours for me to finally fall asleep. However, much like the day before, C4 Healthlabs' CBD oil began to work within ten minutes. With the same deep relaxing feeling settling in, I quickly fell asleep and remained asleep through the night. As a result, I did not feel like I needed a nap halfway through the next day.
The Experience - Day 3
With having the next day off, I wanted to sleep in for once. Around 10:30 PM, I took a full 1mL dosage and within ten minutes was out like a light. Just like before, I slept soundly through the night and woke up feeling like I could get through the day without inhaling a gallon of coffee.
Additional Notes
C4 Healthlabs' Citrus 1000mg Full Spectrum CBD Oil is a quality product that I would recommend to someone with similar problems as myself. If there was one aspect I would like to see C4 Healthlabs improve on, it would be expanding the flavors of their CBD oils. While I enjoy the taste of the citrus, it may not be everyone's cup of tea. C4 Healthlabs also offers a natural flavored full-spectrum CBD oil in 500mg, 1000mg, and 2000mg options.
